Boys will be boys

October 4, 2009 Euis 1 comment

Extremely knackered today because a bunch of friends and I went out yesterday to visit houses to celebrate Hari Raya. I was out from 11 AM to 11 PM. We were all perspiring and complaining about the weather and how uncomfortable our feet were. Crazy stuff. Notable moment of yesterday was Azy’s baby sister throwing up when I was carrying her. She proceeded to cry afterwards. I am such a lousy person.

Anyway, Japanese Formula 1 Grand Prix finished a couple of hours ago. Sebastian won and got ten points, whoo! Then he went to do a chest bump with Tommi Parmakoski, his hot Finnish trainer. I went slightly crazy because Tommi is so adorable, and so is Sebastian when he isn’t being insane or pouty, and seeing them both do a chest bump was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. Haha, those two are like frat boys! In any case, more chest bumps and spontaneous interactions in front of the camera please!

See you when I see you.

“Vivian!”

I dislike this picture. The lighting is poor, I’m slouching like a weak tree and my upper lip has disappeared. However, this picture isn’t about me. It’s obviously about the sexy beast of a car. Oh ja.

Ahaha, I am loving the floral design on Sebastian’s helmet.

I wish I had met him in the flesh.

I wish I had met him too.

And not forgetting this one either.

Yeah, so I went to town to check out the sights and sounds like the tourist that I am. Syae and I reached town a while before evening. We went around, breathed in the delicious air that the drivers breathed and took photos. After dinner, we heard the first live vrroom of an F1 car when we were still at Marina Square. It wasn’t a vrroom really, it was a really high-pitched screech. Either way, it was fantastic. From then on, Syae and I went around the circuit to look for places to watch free practice. The engines sounded so much better in real life than on television! And, not to be biased or anything, but the Ferrari and Renault engines sounded nicer than the McLaren ones. Hmmm, good times.

After getting tired from standing around and watching the cars zoom by noisily, Syae and I decided to go off. Guess who decided to walk by when I was buying a packet of tissues? Go on, guess.

It was Vivian Sibold.

That’s right, Nico Rosberg’s girlfriend. While I was waiting in line to buy a packet of tissues, Syae looked around and suddenly said “Vivian!” I turned and there she was! All tall and blonde, walking like she’d been in Singapore for ages. I was starstuck for quite some time, Syae had to remind me that the cashier was waiting for me. And how could I not be starstuck? Vivian is absolutely gorgeous. Pictures on the internet do not do her justice at all. She is tall and slim with the most fabulous waist-length blonde hair.

Syae and I attempted to chase her for a photograph but she walked too fast!

Here’s a video if you’re interested. The quality isn’t fantastic, you can’t see much because I’m not tall enough to get a good angle and the cars are extremely quick but the sound is amazing! Well, to me anyway.

I hope your Friday was as fabulous as mine.

Why does it always rain on me?

Who watched the Singapore – Liverpool match last night?!

I watched it at the National Stadium with Amirah Amri and a couple of her friends yesterday. We were there since afternoon and boy, was that the longest and hottest 4 hours of my life.

There’s a bunch of pictures in my digital camera but the pictures aren’t so good. I’ll get them updated and edited by the end of this weekend.

Just for the record, Daniel Agger is fierce as hell. I saw him in the team bus as it drove away, and I swear I’ve never seen someone look so fierce. Scary! *shudder*

I missed the Hungarian GP but I caught the qualifying session on Saturday. Qualifying was so scary and bizarre! Felipe got hit by a piece of debris on the head and was knocked unconscious. His car then went off track and rammed into a stack of tyres. It was so scary! He was conscious when the medics pulled him out of the car and got him on the stretcher though. His face looked pretty bad in pictures. Poor Felipe.

I just finished watching the repeat of the race in Hungary. Apart from Fernando’s tyre coming off his car and bouncing away, nothing exciting happened. Well, there was that bit where Kimi and Mark nearly colided into each other in the pits. Then there was also that other bit at the start of the race where Kimi touched Sebastian’s front wing [The pervert in me is laughing manically] but eh, that wasn’t very exciting really.

Timo and Nico did pretty well for the Hungarian GP. That was good. They were also threats to Kimi and Mark for a while. Good on them!

An adorable picture from the Hungarian circuit that I’m dying to share!

Is Fabian Vettel adorable or what?! In case the last name didn’t already give it away, this is Sebastian Vettel’s little brother. He looks just like Sebastian, except smaller and he’s got brown hair. He’s just so cute, innocently sitting there and minding his own business.

Get better soon, Felipe!

As a result of accidentally rubbing my calf painfully on the end of a plastic box, a bruise is starting to form. I think I ruptured a few capillaries.

I’m so excited!

And how can I not be excited?! I’m going to the Kallang Stadium with Amirah Amri to watch Liverpool FC train!!!

I’m not a Liverpool fan but I do have a soft spot for Fernando Torres, Xabi Alonso and Daniel Agger so….*happy sigh*

Anyway, this will be my first time meeting Amirah Amri as well, so more excitement!

A lot of my classmates are down with flu and fever. When I mean a lot, I mean about 14 students! It was so bad, Mr Teo decided to cancel mathematics remedial. Only 26 out of 40 students in my class turned up for school today, so we didn’t study much.

Nothing else to say now. More soon!

PS: Jaime Alguersuari [Remember, it's Heimi Al-gay-shuari, not Jay-me Al-gue-suari] will be driving with Sebastien Buemi. Go Jaime. *waves flag*

Chlorine doesn’t look pale green to me

July 10, 2009 Euis 3 comments

This week was a pretty good week! Apart from being stressed and absolutely worried about that Chemistry test yesterday, it was all pretty great.

I just came back from swimming with Elly actually and I reek of chlorine. I’ve already had a shower but I still reek of chlorine! My eyes are now pretty sore and vision’s kinda blurry because I didn’t wear goggles when I swam, ahaha. There’s water in my ears too, haha.

In any case, I went to Ngee Ann Polytechnic yesterday. I followed the Media and Humanities track while Ika followed the Health and Life Science track. It was pretty fun. All the NP ambassadors were friendly and amicable.

We watched a couple of performances by the school’s percussion band, Baracuda Batucada, their cheerleading squad, Magnum Force [this reminds me of ice cream], and their dance troupe whose name I can’t recall. Shame on me. In any case, the performances were all amazing and I was simply awed by their talents.

I engaged in a few activities at the School of Film and Media studies and the School of Humanities. It was pretty great. I had a chance to interact with some students from different secondary schools and I won a voucher for one of the activities, so win-win.

After all that, I went to the Convention Centre to meet Ika. I managed to meet Alyssa outside the Convention Centre. We had a very quick catch-up session before she went off for her French class.

Back at the Convention Centre, I spoke to a few of the NP ambassadors. Well, they actually came up to me because I was standing around like a fool. Anyway, one of them was studying International Business, the other Biomedical Science or something along those lines, I can’t remember, and the other one Banking and Financial Services. I’m pretty sure he’s studying that anyway, I remember hearing him say “financial”.

Anyway, we went on to the topic about Direct Poly Admission [DPA] and he told me he came from DPA. He pretty much told me his story when he applied through DPA. He also said not to give up hope if I don’t get accepted and I should try other ways of applying.

In any case, I’m much more motivated thanks to him and I’m definitely going to try out DPA.
